Makaboo Group

Cindy Teasdale McGowan, māk•a•boo’s founder and owner, came up with the idea for māk•a•boo while working in the Product Group at Snapfish.com in San Francisco. She loved helping consumers to build tangible products with intangible software, and thought no one was doing a fantastic job in the baby gift space.

In 2007, Cindy moved back to her hometown of St. Louis to be with her now-husband, real estate developer Bill McGowan. After a few stints at agencies in town, she decided to take the leap and start māk•a•boo.

Makaboo Store Front

Cindy graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 1998. She and Bill now live in St. Louis’ Central West End with their cat Me (who used to have a brother named Julio), within a few miles of 18 of their 23 nieces and nephews.

In addition to its web site, māk•a•boo has a store-front in downtown St. Louis, MO.
